When owners of Oconee County farm property received reassessment notices in the mail this week, it might have been easy to mistakenly conclude their property values — and in turn their taxes — had dropped.
Earlier this summer, I noticed an alarming headline from Spartanburg that read, “Infant soaked in sweat, shaking rescued from hot car.”
Listed as a fugitive from justice from Minnesota in the warrant, Jonathon Michael Tripp, 54, of 1108 Crosswinds Drive, was arrested by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office before being booked into the Oconee County Detention Center at 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday.
Megan Brianna Crowe, 21, of 215 Maplecreek Drive, Liberty, was booked into the OCDC at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday on charges of third-degree burglary and petit larceny less than $2,000 in relation to the same case for which she had been arrested Monday night.
