Seneca High School students who stayed to watch the first total eclipse to hit the area since 1900 and the last until 2054 heard the 1983 Bonnie Tyler hit “Total Eclipse of the Heart” over the loudspeaker at Bobcat Stadium prior to the long-awaited event at 2:38 p.m. Monday.

CLEMSON — Kelly Bryant will be Clemson’s starting quarterback in the season opener against Kent State on Sept. 2, head coach Dabo Swinney announced after practice Monday. Bryant, a junior, had been listed as the first-team quarterback since the beginning of spring practice ahead of freshmen Zerrick Cooper, Hunter Johnson and Chase Brice. On Monday, Bryant’s position was made official.
