Green Crescent Trail committee chairman Eric Newton said the committee planned to vote this week on a part-time executive director position, whose responsibilities would include coordinating funding efforts toward establishing a network of pedestrian and cycling trails throughout the area.

Driver dies of injuries suffered in single-car accident

Lance Cpl. Justin Sutherland said the driver, whose name had not yet been released by the Pickens County coroner’s office on Wednesday night, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup on Rice Road about 1.6 miles northwest of Easley shortly after 2 p.m. on Feb. 8 when the truck ran off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail and then went into a creek.
