St. John’s Lutheran Church has long desired to help the local community through a variety of service projects. Earlier this year, church members performed a series of projects as part of Operation Inasmuch taken from Matthew 25:40.
The “Summer Celebration” will run from 11:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at Gignilliat Community Center, located at 621 N. Townville St. in Seneca.
The band will perform a few cover songs in their own style, but the Atlanta-based group plays mostly original music.
Central resident Jean Tulli remembers visiting a North Carolina welfare department and seeing three foster boys who had no one to take care of them at Christmas. She stepped in to help that day, and the desire to help less-fortunate children continued after moving with her family to Central in 1977.
