WALHALLA — Three more Oconee County men were arrested Wednesday by local deputies, bringing the total number of arrests in a sexual exploitation case to seven on warrants accusing them of either having possession of sexually-explicit material involving children and/or sending the material to others, according to Oconee Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jimmy Watt.
WALHALLA — Authorities said a 37-year-old Georgia woman has been arrested for stabbing Terrance Matthew Boyd to death Monday night.
An incident involving a song written by Walhalla Middle School students that surfaced toward the end of the 2021-22 school year wasn’t made public until just before this school year started in August.
The Walhalla Police Department has “a person of interest” in a Monday night stabbing death, according to Chief Tim Rice.
As school shootings and threats of violence have swept the state and nation in recent months — including several within the School District of Oconee County — student safety and violence prevention is at the top of minds for teachers and parents alike.
Main Street Walhalla executive director Libby Imbody resigned this week after two and a half years with the program.
