Willie says:
Sandra Magee, a spokesperson for Duke Energy, wanted to help out my readers with some more information on a recent letter that discussed what to do about hazardous debris floating in lakes operated by Duke. Here’s what she wrote: “I am also following up on the Tell Willie from Dec. 24, 2009 regarding a large tree in the lake. We have not determined where the call came into Duke Energy. No one in our lake services or World of Energy staff took this call. For clarification and future inquiries here is some additional info. When someone sees a large piece of debris that could be a navigational or safety hazard in a Duke Energy operated lake, please contact Duke Energy’s lake services representatives at 1-800-443-5193. We will need to know specifically where the debris is located and a contact number we can call in case we have additional questions. Duke Energy works with a contractor to remove large pieces floating in the lake or pieces that appear to be in danger of floating away and becoming a navigational hazard. Normally, debris on the shoreline is the responsibility of the property owner. During the week of Dec. 21, the contractor did remove a 40-50 foot log from Lake Keowee.”

Willie,
Why is it that Seneca Light & Water charges us a trucking fee when all they are doing is having us pay their debts and charging us a disconnect fee when we are not disconnected? I have just paid my bill and they charged me the disconnect fee when I wasn’t disconnected, then refused to go ahead and disconnect my service before I paid the fee, so that way I had a reason to pay the fee. Willie, please help me on this.
