The start of the season for the Clemson football team is a little more than six weeks away, and there will be some familiar faces missing when the Tigers begin their campaign against Georgia in Charlotte, N.C.
It was announced Wednesday that Clemson’s Lyn-J Dixon and South Carolina’s Kevin Harris are among the 82 players who appear on the watch list for the Doak Walker Award, which is presented annually to the nation’s top running back.
Coming a week before its first rivalry matchup with South Carolina in two years, and with possible trips to the ACC title game and College Football Playoff on the horizon, Clemson’s ACC regular season finale against Wake Forest may get overshadowed.
It was announced Monday that Clemson quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei and wide receiver Justyn Ross have been named to the Maxwell Award watch list, while defensive tackle Bryan Bresee and safety Nolan Turner were named to the watch list for the Chuck Bednarik Award.
