There’s no getting around it — this is going to be a hard one for Clemson to live down.
The Clemson athletic department announced Friday it completed 1,909 COVID-19 tests on student-athletes and staff from Dec. 18 through Thursday. A total of nine people tested positive — eight staff members, and one student-athlete — for a positive rate of 0.5 percent.
Dabo Swinney made headlines last week when he ranked Ohio State No. 11 in his final Amway Coaches Poll, and he hasn’t backed down from that ranking in the leadup to Clemson’s clash with the Buckeyes to open the College Football Playoff on Friday.
